DR. EZEKIEL ANNAN
(
Dr. Ezekiel Annan is a former researcher and specialist on Meta-humans that was employed for most of his professional career by the Douman Zaibatsu. After a personal and professional falling out, Dr. Annan disappeared for some time before re-emerging as the appointed head of the Neo Sapien Organization, a pro-Meta group funded privately by unknown backers. Here he continues his work with the ultimate goal of fostering a peaceful future for all mankind.
Dr. Annan is a man guided not only by his background as a scientist, but also a sort of transhumanist spirituality. Dr. Annan believes that understanding and fostering Meta-humans is the key to humanity's collective future, and that there is some force at work beyond what humanity can perceive that has guided the growth of Meta-humans. He believes that they will help mankind transcend its current state as they move into the stars. But despite his respect for science and spirituality, he has some practical sense, too. With a sort of passive disrespect for the law under his former employer, he isn't above taking less-than-moral actions to achieve the greater good.
AYA HOSADA
(
Aya Hosada, a.k.a. Ms. Hosada, a.k.a. Hosada-san, however you want to address her, is the Director of Personnel and Resident Liaison for the Neo Sapien Organization — as well as its longest tenured employee under Dr. Annan, having left the Douman Zaibatsu along with him to help found the group. Carrying out much of its day-to-day tedium while Dr. Annan focuses on bigger operations and plans for the group, she is the direct contact for most anyone involved with the NSO. Ms. Hosada generally tries to be as helpful as she can, pushing herself probably harder than most should to assure the needs of all of those under the NSO's care are met.
Ms. Hosada herself is both a Meta-human and a cyborg, but much of her past is enveloped in the fog of mystery, with the only official record stating she was a software engineer at Douman Zaibatsu before leaving the company. She'll tell anyone who asks that it was a whole lifetime (and gender) ago, and she'd rather focus on changing the future than dwelling in the past.
RICHARD MAGNUS
(
Richard Magnus was born great. He was destined from birth to be the leader of the world, as many would say, groomed from his very earliest days to be the most excellent a human being could possibly be. Mentally, physically, he is without much peer among his fellow humans.
Well, the normal ones, anyway.
But to say that simple envy drives his disregard for Meta-humans would be misleading. Richard Magnus is a visionary, and regards Meta-humans as simply another tool to be used in service of that vision. The Douman Zaibatsu's research into Meta-humans started with Dr. Annan, after all, and it didn't stop when he left. They have plans in mind for them. Magnus has plans. And those plans are shaping up to be quite sinister indeed.
